Of primary importance in language learning, we believe, is intensive training in the four skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Our students who enjoy the privilege of small size classes, some of which are taught by native teachers, can truly develop their skills as much as they wish.
In addition to the practical language classes we offer a wide range of classes for background knowledge: culture, history, area studies, art and thought, and various other related subjects, including non-major languages such as Spanish, Chinese, Italian, Latin, and Greek. This is intended to provide our students with genuine understanding of our business partnerŐs society, and of course, of our own. Our students do not only learn to speak English, German, or French, but acquire a deep insight into the linguistic and sociological issues of the language. Furthermore, our practicum courses in conversation, interpretation, language teaching, and readiness for language proficiency tests, part of which is aided by computers and audio-visual equipment, never fail to orient our graduates to the needs of the society.
Our teaching staff have a wide range of speciality interests as well as various backgrounds in teaching and business. This diversity can be tapped by motivated students who intend to study, especially in the third and fourth year grades, seminar courses including such subjects as drama, films, fashion, mass media, politics and economics, history, and language teaching, not to mention, language and literature.
