On Monday, February 10, 2020, a Center for English as a Lingua Franca (CELF) Special Faculty Development Event was held. Dr Masaki Oda (Ph D), Professor and Director of the Center for English as a Lingua Franca (CELF), Tamagawa University, and Ms Mari Watanabe, Tamagawa graduate (Zenjin) and CELF office staff member, shared their memories of the founder of Tamagawa University, Mr Kuniyoshi Obara, and the development of Tamagawa University & Academy’s Zenjin Education which Obara sensei pioneered. The presentation included their experiences as staff members and former students of Tamagawa University & Academy and variously fascinating anecdotal accounts of our highly respected and much loved university’s founding father.
