Now we will tell you the history of our press. The Idea Shoin Press which evolved into Tamagawa Gakuen Press in 1929 was established in 1923. And Tamagawa Gakuen Press changed its name to Tamagawa University Press in 1947, the year Tamagawa University was founded. Our earliest aim was to spread the ideals and educational vision of Kuniyoshi Obara, the founder of Tamagawa Gakuen. Our first major publication was the Encyclopedia for Children.

After the World War II, we published many series of encyclopedias: Encyclopedia for School Children, Encyclopedia Tamagawa for Elementary Learners, Encyclopedia Tamagawa, New Encyclopedia Tamagawa, and Encyclopedia Tamagawa for Children and Education. And today we issue books on education, social science, cultural sciences, culture, and textbooks.
