Japan Studies

In this area, students learn how to understand and relate to contemporary society by objectively understanding Japan and communicating information about Japan in a globalized world.

Students learn advanced forms of Japanese-language expression and practical Japanese-language teaching abilities based on a deep understanding of the structures and distinguishing features of the Japanese language.

By investigating human life, thought, and other subjects from diverse perspectives and by understanding the processes of change that have contributed to contemporary society over the course of Japanese culture and history, students gain the ability to accurately and effectively discuss the current state of Japan.
