CELF Distinguished Lecture Series 2026, Tamagawa University

~CELF Forum 2026~

The Center for English as a Lingua Franca (CELF) at Tamagawa University will hold the CELF Distinguished Lecture Series 2026, consisting of the annual CELF Forum and a Guest Lecture. The events will be held in the ELF Study Hall 2015 at Tamagawa University.

The CELF Forum 2026, titled Evolving Paradigms of English: World Englishes, ELF, and Translingual Orientations, will be held on Saturday, June 6th, 2026, from 09:00 to 16:45 (registration opens at 09:00). This year’s Forum will include two plenary sessions by invited speaker Dr. Suresh Canagarajah, an introductory talk by Dr. Masaki Oda, and concurrent sessions by CELF teachers. Registration is free and open to anyone. A light lunch and refreshments are provided free of charge. An “opt out” option is available via online registration below.

Dr. Glenn Toh of Nanyang Technological University

The Guest Lecture 2026, titled Educating Children of Cross-border Marriages: Scrutinizing Issues Relating to Language and Culture, will be held on Wednesday, June 24th, 2026, from 14:30 to 15:30 in ELF Study Hall 2015, Room 210 (Active Learning Zone). No registration is required, and participation is free and open to all.
