研究テーマ：

English Education

In this project seminar students will investigate issues related to education and English language teaching and learning. We may discuss topics such as current and historical issues in education in Japan; language teacher training and certification; English language education at primary, secondary and post-secondary levels; research methodology and action research. Students will be encouraged to search for, identify and do research on issues that are of concern to them.

The seminar will be conducted in English. Students will be expected to use English in class as well as do research and write reports in English.

Learning opportunities may include extensive and intensive reading, reaction papers, dialogue journals, pair work, group work, and research projects which involve oral presentations and written papers.

Students may report their research results in individual and group presentations and papers. Students should seek to expand their learning experiences to the wider community by participating in conferences, study abroad programs, internships, fieldwork, and/or community and volunteer work

Students who are willing to use English to learn and who are interested in doing academic work in English are welcome to apply to this seminar.

学生からのゼミ紹介

大金ゼミでは、英語科の教員を目指すことを前提に、英語科指導法を学んだり、実践的な模擬授業を行ったりします。授業は英語で行われますので、自然と英語の力が伸びていくと思います。3年時には、コスモス祭での学内展示に向けて、広く知られていない経営学部での教職課程のシステムについて教職担当の先生や教職課程の先輩にお話しを伺い、教職課程をとる意味や喜びを紹介しました。4年時の今は、卒業論文に向けて3年時で学んだことや教育実習で経験したことを活かし、個人でテーマ設定をし、日々励んでいるところです。また、校外で行われる英語教育の学会やミーティングに積極的に参加し、教育現場で働く先生方と意見交換をし、知識を高めています。（4年：小林）
